A voice on the other end of the line spoke. “911, what’s your emergency?”
The detectives who were listening to the recording on that strange call were prepared for anything. But this phone call was not what they expected. There was a whimper on the other end. Then a woman spoke.
“Hello? I need help.” The woman whimpered.
“OK, Ma’am. What’s wrong?” asked the operator.
“I’m lost. I don’t even know how I got here. I was home a few minutes ago.”
“OK, Ma’am. Can you describe where you are?”
“Its dark. I think I’m in the woods.” The woman started to cry in agony.
“Ma’am are you ok?” asked the operator.
“No.” The woman said softly. “The back of my head really hurts.”
“The back of your head hurts?”
“Yes.” The woman cried in pain again.
The detectives had their focus entirely on the conversation. What the hell was going on? They asked themselves.
“Who’s the woman?” asked one of the detectives.
“That’s the weird part- listen.” Said the other detective who pressed play once again.
“Ma’am can you tell me your name?”
“Jessica. Jessica Burns.”
The detective who was hearing the call for the first time felt a chill go down his entire body.
“Jessica burns?” he asked. “Isn’t that the girl who’s been missing for two years?”
“That’s not all.” Said the other detective
The operator spoke once again. “OK, we’re tracking where you are with your phone. Please stay where you are.”
“That’s all I can do. I haven’t moved from this spot for years.”
“Have you been living in the woods?” asked the operator.
“No. Trapped. The roots from the tree I’ve been under has been growing all over me. And I can’t stand the smell anymore.”
“What smell?” asked the operator.
“Thank you Suzanna for talking to me. I haven’t talked to anyone in years. By the time they find me, they’ll discover I’m long gone.”
“What do you mean? And how do you know my name?” the operator was worried. The operator then hears the officers calling for Jessica and once they found her all them operator could hear is them gasping and throwing up.
“Hello?” said the operator. “Is anyone there?”
The officer spoke on the phone. “Yes. This is officer Daniels, we found the body of Jessica Burns.
“What?” the operator was stunned then both the officer and the operator both heard the mysterious woman’s voice. “Thank you for finding me.”
Then the phone hung up.
The detective was shocked. “Apparently we just heard the voice of a ghost.” Said the other detective. “ She was knocked in the back of the head than stabbed in the back countless times. Poor soul. Her spirit has been lost for two years.
“Do you really believe in this?” asked the other detective?
“I don’t know what to believe, but it’s unexplainable.”
The detectives turned off the device and left the room. Not knowing there was a shadow figure standing in the corner looking at them. The recorder played and it said thank you. It rewound and kept playing thank you.
