The Sleeping Sun (Short Story)

There’s a world within a nature based living room. A woman, who always sips her cup of Synari tea, which is a type of sweet flower. She usually picked the flower off her table made out of a purple liquid. Every time she put her cup down, the surface rippled. She usually gazed out her floating window that allowed her to look at the lives that lived in the night dimension. The night dimension were filled with stars in space. Each star were buildings which were homes for the Inat. beings made of fire and powerful energy. Not one of them knew of their immense power. Majority of the Inat were just trying to survive the hustle and bustle of life. They rode Asteroids for transportation just to travel far and wide. They worshipped the mother sun who always slept and paid no mind to the commotion of the Inat.

The mysterious woman observed the spirits of the night dimension all the time. Hoping, waiting, for a friend to call her on the other side of time. The window was her only way to contact her friend… sadly, they never called. She was lonely. Little did she know, so was the mother sun.

Whenever the mother sun woke up from her sleep, everything explodes. Her waking up disintegrates all life in the night dimension and the mysterious woman as well. She wakes up every three days. And when she sleeps, everything that was destroyed returns. like nothing ever happened. When the sun yawns, her energy expands and burns everything out of existence. It is all unknown to the sun when this happens. She’s completely alone when she looks around to find nothing in that empty black space. No stars, no Inat, no mysterious woman. Just forever emptiness. In her loneliness and boredom, she goes back to sleep. but each time she wakes up, she hopes and longs for some connection. She’d talk to something, anything, just to not feel so alone. Like the woman she accidentally created, she endlessly waits for someone. for a friend.
